Machion Jackson was a featured speaker at The K12 Facilities Forum’19

 Machion Jackson is the Assistant Superintendent of Operations for the Detroit Public Schools Community District and oversees the core operations of food service, transportation, real estate, environmental health, and facilities.  

Machion brings more than 20 years of experience in all facets of education including teaching, school level administration, board membership, grant reviewing and new school development.  Prior to her work at DPSCD, Machion served as a founding partner of a non-profit charter management organization and led its growth strategy. She helped establish the company as a respected educational service provider growing the network from 1 to 7 schools in 5 years.  

In her current role, Machion led the campaign to provide safe drinking water for the District, implemented cost saving, accountability measures for third party vendors, and created a capital improvement strategy to address compromised infrastructures.  

Jackson holds a B.A. in English, a M.Ed. in Secondary Education and a Certified Operations Director certificate from the Michigan School Officials Organization.  She and her husband live in the Metro Detroit area with their four children.
